HOW WE MAKE GOOD ON OUR PROMISE

We provide weekly sessions for fathers that provides education on maternal, positive family structure and infant health.  We provide fathers resources to doctors, nurses, dietitians, lactation specialist, and social workers. Our fathers are provided a mentor for a year after the birth of their baby who will assist them with overcoming obstacles that will help lead our fathers to successful outcomes.

While our program specifically relates to expectant fathers, we also have designed our program to include expectant mothers as well. Their involvement helps to bring the importance of a positive family structure, full circle.  Program sessions include:

  • Being A Great Parent

  • Safe Sleep Guidance

  • Supporting Mommy During Pregnancy

  • A Positive and Healthy Family Environment

  • What to Do When the Baby Comes Home

WHAT WE OFFER

Numerous studies have shown that when fathers are a presence in their child’s life, the impact can be significant in terms of early development, academic achievement, and the overall well-being of the child.  A father’s support can make a big difference even before their baby is born. Researchers have found that when a father is involved before birth, his presence can potentially lower the risk of infant mortality in the first year of life. The influence is particularly relevant for African American babies.
