OUR OBJECTIVE

Dads2B offers prenatal educational sessions to fathers educating them on maternal, positive family structure and infant health.

HOW WE MAKE GOOD ON OUR PROMISE

At Urban Family Development Center, we believe that when fathers are equipped, families thrive. Dads2B is more than a prenatal education program—it’s a comprehensive father engagement initiative that prepares men to become confident fathers, supportive partners, and positive leaders within their families.

Now serving families across Franklin, Montgomery, Mahoning, and Licking Counties, Dads2B provides expectant and new fathers with the education, resources, and ongoing support they need from pregnancy through early fatherhood.

Through weekly interactive sessions and one-on-one coaching, fathers gain practical knowledge while connecting with physicians, nurses, social workers, lactation consultants, behavioral health professionals, and other community resources. We also help fathers find employment, navigate child support, improve financial stability, access mental health services, and overcome barriers that strengthen their ability to support their families.

We believe healthy fathers create healthier families. That’s why we encourage mothers to participate alongside fathers whenever possible, strengthening co-parenting relationships, family stability, and outcomes for both parents and their children.

Building Fathers. Strengthening Families.

Fatherhood begins long before a baby is born. Through education, mentorship, and ongoing support, Dads2B equips fathers to be present, engaged, and prepared for every stage of the journey. Because when fathers thrive, mothers, babies, and entire communities thrive with them.

WHAT WE OFFER

Numerous studies have shown that when fathers are a presence in their child’s life, the impact can be significant in terms of early development, academic achievement, and the overall well-being of the child.  A father’s support can make a big difference even before their baby is born. Researchers have found that when a father is involved before birth, his presence can potentially lower the risk of infant mortality in the first year of life. The influence is particularly relevant for African American babies.
